Making Major Decisions

Open to all students, but may be especially beneficial for pre-business, pre-nursing, and exploratory majors.

Are you feeling uncertain about your current major or seeking alternatives? You're not alone! Many college students find themselves at this crossroads.  Also, this does not mean you're "behind" (you are actually ahead - about 70% of IU students change majors, and many do so more than once - and yet, these students are more likely to complete their degrees than those who don't change their majors).

Whether you're questioning your chosen path or simply exploring other options, this class has been designed just for you. In this small class you will:

  • Explore different degree programs & career options
  • Gain insight from peers and successful professionals who have also changed course
  • Learn strategies for making decisions with more confidence, clarity, and understanding

Engage

Engage in rich conversations and equip yourself with useful tools on the journey as you make important decisions about classes, majors, and how those choices can connect to a life of fulfilling work, service to others, continued learning, and joy.

Explore

Lean into this moment as one of exploration and the idea that changing your major isn't a setback; it's a sign of growth.  As an explorer, we'll dig into what this experience has to offer for learning more about who you are, what you want, and how you're going to get it.
