Courses for Credit Overview
Each semester, the Student Academic Center offers a variety of courses designed to promote students’ academic success at the university. Some courses are offered for a full 16-week semester; others for only a half semester–that is, for only a first or second 8-week session. All carry credit from the School of Education that can be applied as electives in most degree programs.
Such credit, of course, is intended to be earned. Just as in any other class, students enrolled in the Student Academic Center’s courses are expected to fulfill all the course requirements, including attending class regularly, completing all assignments, and, in some courses, taking final exams. Those willing to work hard at improving their skills consistently report that their time and effort pay off in a greater ability to meet the academic demands of all courses.
